Service Description

Fascial Unwinding was developed by Beth Beauchamp of Fascia IQ. This technique is incredibly gentle, non invasive, and works on the principle of releasing or 'unwinding' deep seated tension from the inside-out. Each session is based around a core set of 8 hand 'holds' that engage with the main fascial chains in the body. The hand holds range from static engagement to very mild palpation - encouraging a switch from sympathetic nervous system state (fight-flight or freeze) to a parasympathetic nervous system state (rest-digest & heal). Our fascia is a rich network of collagen, elastin, gel-like substance, and filled with millions of nerve endings. It encapsulates and wraps around every part of us: from skin to bone, facilitating communication and connection right down to the cellular level. Our fascia responds to life experiences, injuries, postural habits and much more - and can become dehydrated and adhered in response to these things. Our intelligent fascia is always working with the best of intentions - to protect the area around injuries, to save energy around postural habits. But it can get stuck in these patterns and requires some warmth and support to coax it into a new state. There is a theory that our fascia stores emotional memory - based on how our body reacts to life experiences. These emotions & experiences are either processed and worked through, or stored and held. Fascial Unwinding is a technique that uses 'listening hands", sensing and intuition to find and invite the release of old emotional recordings in our tissues. Our bodies have an innate wisdom for self-regulation and self-healing. By restoring healthy functioning and communication within the fascial system - our aim is to work towards a state of balance & ease in the body, mind, and emotions. Why try Fascial Unwinding: - Ongoing pain patterns that don't respond to traditional treatment methods. - Migraine and tension headaches - Anxiety & Chronic Stress - Brain fog and lack of mental clarity - Complex, mysterious, unknown health situations where a softer, gentler approach is required. ** This technique is different to myofascial release, which is very mechanical and more of a 'massage' experience. Fascial Unwinding sessions are similar to cranial sacral therapy and Reiki.
